Leblebi Inspired Savoury Roasted Chickpeas

Leblebi Inspired Savoury Roasted Chickpeas

Oh hello, let me introduce you to my new favourite snack: Leblebi Inspired Savoury Roasted Chickpeas.

I’ve been on a bit of a chickpea kick lately, if you hadn’t noticed already. It only made sense that I roast some up for a grazing snack to have on hand. Lately, I haven’t been consuming my daily quota of potato chips, instead I have been eating these roasted chickpeas by the fistful. They have a popcorn-esque snackiness. I can munch on them with abandon since they have benefit of being low in saturated fat and being a healthy source of iron and folate.

Double Dipped Fried Green Tomatoes

Double Dipped Fried Green Tomatoes

I enjoy eating fried food items from time to time (who doesn’t?). I especially like thinking of new foods to fry. These Double Dipped Fried Green Tomatoes have been floating around my head since I watched the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, years ago.

My Hummus Obsession Ends Here: The Best Hummus Recipe, Ever

My Hummus Obsession Ends Here: The Best Hummus Recipe, Ever

I am absolutely, completely, hopelessly, ridiculously obsessed with hummus. I, like actress, Natalie Portman crave hummus and have the ability to eat my body weight in hummus (yes, that’s my pop culture reference for today.) My hummus obsession is attributed to my mother and my favourite restaurant, Nuba.

Princess & the Pea Crostini

Princess & the Pea Crostini

I hate peas.

Or at least I think I hate peas.

For as long as I can remember, peas, even just the word itself, caused me distress. They would make appearances in rice or in various Indian dishes like carrot sabji or aloo mattar (potato and pea) dahl. I would cringe and feel repulsed.

In my mind, they were these weird greyish green orbs that had a leathery skin. Their texture was starchy and when my spoon scooped them up – they would become mushy. It was obvious, I disliked them. Any peas that hit my plate, would be picked out or pushed to the side.
