Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

These cookies are my love letter to peanut butter.

I’ve mulled on this recipe for weeks. Recently, I found a scrunched up piece of paper in the bottom of my laptop bag. It really is just scribbles of measurements. The writing is nearly illegible. Scrawls and scratches. A recipe that has been tinkered with until it reached my version of perfection. This means one thing – peanut butter experimentation can yield good things.

The secret is out…the best recipes are the simplest. That is an adage I convince myself of regularly.

Flavours of Gajerala without all the work: Ultimate Carrot Cake with Cardamom Icing

Flavours of Gajerala without all the work: Ultimate Carrot Cake with Cardamom Icing

IF dessert drama (not family drama) is your goal this holiday season then Carrot Cake should be your dessert. Everyone is opinionated about this vegetal cake. There are devout haters, purists, accoutrement adders, and ones who have sadly never had a deliciously moist piece of carrot cake. Without fail, there is always a lengthy discussion whenever carrot cake is served.

Ode to Bibi – Mango Pickles

Ode to Bibi – Mango Pickles

It has been awhile since my Bibi (paternal grandmother) died. She was said to be 87 although it cannot be certain. I will always remember my mom’s haunting cry when she received the news over the phone. I have watched my parents cry and mourn for months. Despite her being millions of miles away, our house shook to the core, there was empty sadness that could not be filled.

I cried in solitude, mainly in the shower. But for the most part, I was able to keep things together. I told myself all the right things to justify why it was OK. There was some solace in knowing Bibi Ji lived a long and full life.
